This watch was a Christmas present for my mum. The watch is really lovely, very well made and substantial looking. Mum must have worn it every day since she got it and has never had any problem with it. The supplier was excellent – really quick to deliver.

Have had a Casio WaveCeptor watch 4 years, it's superb, never a second's trouble, still working perfectly but the "metal" finish on the shoulders has worn off, so I sent for this watch. Thrilled on arrival, it's a gorgeous watch, but 2 days later I had not been able to set the time: the watch powered up no problem with the radio signal, but the time was forever 20 minutes or more out of sync. I followed the manual till I was completely disillusioned that I must be some sort of moron. The manual, as others have complained about Casio watches, is atrocious, microscopic in size with no care taken to improve comprehensibility. People spending a couple of hundred deserve better, and there's no reason why Casio should offer something so tiny - how many pennies are they saving? Enlarge it 200% and cut the number of pages. To their credit, Amazon accepted the return and refunded in quick time - full marks. Mine may be a rare case of a faulty watch (or a faulty ME !) but it's put me off buying another. I sent mine back. Have had a Casio WaveCeptor watch 4 years, it’s superb, never a second’s trouble, still working perfectly but the “metal” finish on the shoulders has worn off, so I sent for this watch. Thrilled on arrival, it’s a gorgeous watch, but 2 days later I had not been able to set the time: the watch powered up no problem with the radio signal, but the time was forever 20 minutes or more out of sync. I followed the manual till I was completely disillusioned that I must be some sort of moron. The manual, as others have complained about Casio watches, is atrocious, microscopic in size with no care taken to improve comprehensibility. People spending a couple of hundred deserve better, and there’s no reason why Casio should offer something so tiny – how many pennies are they saving? Enlarge it 200% and cut the number of pages. To their credit, Amazon accepted the return and refunded in quick time – full marks. Mine may be a rare case of a faulty watch (or a faulty ME !) but it’s put me off buying another. This ought to be a 5-star watch but if it’s so difficult to programme, how would I fare moving around other countries?

It displays world time on the smaller dial so you can see it all the time, the clever design here is that this dial is 24 hours which gets round the problem of how to display if the world time is AM or PM. When you are in the other country with a couple of button presses you can swap the world time to be on the main hands and UK time on the smaller dial. The smaller dial is also used to set the alarm time and the second hand points to on or off to show the alarm state. The radio time signal is brilliant, it means the watch stays at the right time so no more calling 123 for the speaking clock, I now use this watch to set my other clocks by, and when the clocks change it does it for me so my alarm still sounds at the right time so I'm not 1hr late or early. The reason I was looking for a new watch was that my old watch kept stopping after I had the battery changed, this one being solar charged and with the radio controlled time means this watch looks after itself. It's not to chunky or heavy on my wrist. Delivery was very slow so I was unhappy with the service from Amazon and the response I got when querying the service. The watch itself is very nice. Contrary to the previous review mine set-itself out of the box once charged. The only setting I needed to do was the home timezone. This is not something that you will figure out but is easy when you read the manual and it updates for DST thereafter. Nice watch. Delivery was very slow so I was unhappy with the service from Amazon and the response I got when querying the service. The watch itself is very nice. Contrary to the previous review mine set-itself out of the box once charged. The only setting I needed to do was the home timezone. This is not something that you will figure out but is easy when you read the manual and it updates for DST thereafter. Changing for different timezones when travelling is not as easy as it should be specially given that sisnce you are not home you won’t have the manual.
The watch is every bit as substantial as the Automatic watches and will get as much attention so make sure that you are comfortable with having a Casio.
